This course aims to give the participants an opportunity to learn and understand the hazards from temporary works in construction and to implement appropriate risk control measures to mitigate the risk.
There are many types of works carried out in a construction workplace including temporary and permanent works. Temporary works are the parts of a construction project that are needed to enable the permanent works to be built. Temporary works cover four main site functions: access, support, protection and groundworks (including excavations, ground supports, etc). The objective of this module is to inculcate awareness of the various hazards from temporary works in a construction worksite, enabling stakeholders to be able to identify the hazards involved and implement appropriate risk control measures to mitigate the risk.

He is the Director of Revelation System Pte Ltd which was incorporated in 2016, providing Quality, Environmental, Health & Safety consultancy services. He is also a Partner of Ace Plus Workplace Consultancy LLP, an SAC-accredited WSH Auditing Organisation (AO) providing ConSASS and bizSAFE Risk Management auditing services. After obtaining his Bachelor Degree in Civil Engineering in 1994 from National University of Singapore, he started his career in the building construction industry as a Project Engineer and progressed to Project Manager, Senior Project Manager and to Project Director. Recognizing that workplace environmental, health & safety concerns are closely related to the building and construction activities, he began to seek competency in environmental, health & safety aspects in 2007. Currently, he is an ISO Management System External Auditor, Design for Safety Professional (DfSP), MOM-approved Workplace Safety and Health Auditor (WSHA), MOM registered Workplace Safety and Health Ocer (WSHO), SCDF registered Fire Safety Manager (FSM) and NEA registered Environmental Control Ocer (ECO). A notice of replacement / postponement together with the full particulars of the new participant (for replacement) must be given to us AT LEAST 3 working days before course commencement. A charge of S$50 (replacement) or S$100 (postponement) will be imposed on such changes.
A notice of cancellation must be given at least 3 working days before commencement of the course and 50% of course fee will be charged /returned. If notice is given less than 3 working days before the first day of the course, there will be no refund/100% charged.
