Manage and supervise working at height activities in the construction sites with our WSQ Manage Work at Height course (MWAH)

 

Manage Work at Height course also previously known as ‘Managing Work-At-Height (MWAH) will equip participants with an understanding of the principles, hazards and control measures of working at height and competencies to manage/supervise working at height activities in the work site / construction sites.

Manage Work at Height course has been designed to meet the minimum standard for working-at-height Training for Supervisors, Assessors or Managers in Singapore, as recommended in the WSH (Work at Heights) Regulations 2013 and the Approved Code of Practice for Working Safely at Height (2011).

Learning Outcomes 

  • Identify, explain, and apply the relevant Workplace Safety and Health (WSH) legislation/Approved Code of Practice/Singapore Standards applicable to work at height

  • Identify and explain the Roles & Responsibilities of stakeholders, competent and responsible persons.

  • Identify hazards, evaluate the risk, and implement control measures for work at height

  • Review the necessary fall preventive / protective control measures for safe execution of work at height

  • Establish, evaluate, review and implement a Fall Prevention Plan

  • Establish and implement a system for an effective monitoring and control of WAH risks

  • Don, check and correct Individual Fall Protection Equipment and respond to a fall emergency

 

Pre-Requisites

Learners are assumed to have at least WSQ ESS Workplace Literacy and Numeracy Level 4 and above or equivalent and the ability to carry out hazard identification, risk assessment, and risk control measures.

 

Mode of Assessment

Assessment

  • 2 hours Written Assessment (70% passing mark)

  • 3 hrs of Practical Performance (100% passing mark)

Certification

A Statement of Attainment (SOA) will be issued by SSG to candidates who are certified competent in this competency unit, and with a minimum of 100% attendance of entire course.

Funding Information

Singapore Citizens or Singapore Permanent Residents

Trainee must achieve at least 75% attendance

Trainee must pass all prescribed tests / assessments, and attain 100% competency

SCAL Academy reserves the right to claw back the funded amount from trainee if he/she did not meet the eligibility criteria

Training provider will submit trainee details via SSG Training Provider Gateway and will bill in NETT fee if trainee is eligible for training grant. Note that all grants are subject for final approval by SSG.

Replacement/Postponement

A notice of replacement / postponement together with the full particulars of the new participant (for replacement) must be given to us AT LEAST 3 working days before course commencement. A charge of S$50 (replacement) or S$100 (postponement) will be imposed on such changes. Appeal of Assessment Result: (a) Students who wish to appeal for review of assessment results, please fill the Assessment Appeal Form that can be downloaded from website. There will be an admin fee of $60.00 (incl GST, non-refundable).
