Manage Workplace Safety and Health in Construction Sites course – MWSH, previously known as Construction Safety Course for Project Managers – CSCPM aims to provide learners with the knowledge and skills in managing the worksite’s safety and health management system and ensuring safety and health measures are put in place in construction activities. The “Manage Construction Work for WSH” is a mandatory training course for all individuals who are assigned to manage any construction project exceeding $10m in contract value.

Learning Outcomes

  • Understand the legal obligations of duty holders, including the project manager of a worksite, under the new WSH framework

  • Form the WSH Committee and implement its functions

  • Plan and implement safety programme, system and safe work procedure for construction activities in accordance with WSH (Construction) Regulations

  • Plan and implement an occupational health programme and risk assessment in accordance with general principles and requirements of related WSH Regulations and Guidelines

  • Plan and implement risk management for all construction activities in accordance with general principles and requirements of related WSH Regulations and Guidelines

  • Establish the procedures for incident reporting, accident prevention and investigation in accordance with general principles and requirements of related WSH Regulations and Guidelines

  • Establish and implement Safety and Health Management System in worksite in accordance with general principles and requirements of related WSH Regulations and Guidelines

Pre-Requisites

Learners must be holding the position of Chairman of Safety Committee, Project Manager, Project Engineer, Superintendent, or equivalent post to be eligible to attend this course.

Learners are assumed to have:

  • Employability Skills (ES) Workplace Literacy and Numeracy Level 6 and above or equivalence

  • Knowledge of the construction industry activities

 

Mode of Assessment

Assessment

Upon completion of the course, learners are required to sit for a 4 hours Written Assessment.

Certification

A Statement of Attainment (SOA) will be issued by SSG to candidates who are certified competent in this competency unit, and with a minimum of 100% attendance of entire course.

Funding Information

Trainee must achieve at least 75% attendance

Trainee must pass all prescribed tests / assessments, and attain 100% competency

SCAL Academy reserves the right to claw back the funded amount from trainee if he/she did not meet the eligibility criteria

Training provider will submit trainee details via SSG Training Provider Gateway and will bill in NETT fee if trainee is eligible for training grant. Note that all grants are subject for final approval by SSG.

Replacement/Postponement

A notice of replacement / postponement together with the full particulars of the new participant (for replacement) must be given to us AT LEAST 3 working days before course commencement. A charge of S$50 (replacement) or S$100 (postponement) will be imposed on such changes. Appeal of Assessment Result: (a) Students who wish to appeal for review of assessment results, please fill the Assessment Appeal Form that can be downloaded from website. There will be an admin fee of $60.00 (incl GST, non-refundable).
