SCAL is accredited by Singapore Resuscitation and First Aid Council (SRFAC) and the Singapore Accreditation Council (SAC) under ISO 29993:2017 to offer Occupational First Aid Course. The WSH (First Aid) Regulations (Cap. 354A, S65) Reg.5 stipulates that every person appointed as a first-aider shall
(a) have successfully completed a training course acceptable to the Commissioner; and
(b) undergo such subsequent re-training in first-aid treatment as the Commissioner may require.

 

Target Audience

Any individuals with interest in first aid or who has been assigned a WSH-related role in the company, must be physically fit and able to render help to another individual during an emergency.

 

Assumed Skills and Knowledge (Entry Requirement):

Employability Skills System (ESS) Workplace Literacy and Numeracy (WPLN) Level 5 and above, or equivalent

 

Objectives:

The OFAC is a mandatory training course for Occupational First Aiders. The aim of the course is to train individuals to render first aid treatment to the casualty during an emergency or accident at the workplace.

 

Passing Criteria:

• Theory Assessment (40 MCQs) - 80% 
• Practical Assessment - 100%

 

Certification:
Only participants with 75% attendance will be eligible to sit for the assessment. Certificate of Successful Completion and ID card will be awarded to participants who successfully completed the course and passed the assessments. Validity period of certificate is 2 years.

• Handling and Transportation of the Injured • Management of Medical Emergencies
• Principles and Practice of First Aid • Fractures and Soft Tissue Injuries
• Wounds, Bleeding & Shock
• Safety & Accident Prevention • Occupational Eye Injuries
• Breathing Difficulties
• The Unconscious Patient • Industrial Toxicology
• Burn Injuries

3.0 Day Course

  • Training Hours – 21.0 hours

  • Assessment Hours – 13 hours

Funding Information

Training provider will submit trainee details via SSG Training Provider Gateway and will bill in NETT fee if trainee is eligible for training grant. Note that all grants are subject for final approval by SSG.

Register

Replacement/Postponement

A notice of replacement / postponement together with the full particulars of the new participant (for replacement) must be given to us AT LEAST 3 working days before course commencement. A charge of S$50 (replacement) or S$100 (postponement) will be imposed on such changes. Appeal of Assessment Result: (a) Students who wish to appeal for review of assessment results, please fill the Assessment Appeal Form that can be downloaded from website. There will be an admin fee of $60.00 (incl GST, non-refundable).
