Course Overview

With effect from 1 Dec, 2024, all employers in Singapore must fairly consider formal requests from employees for flexible work arrangements (FWAs) under the new Tripartite Guidelines on Flexible Work Arrangements.

The rules which adopt a broad definition of FWAs beyond the flexi-place arrangements will cover formal requests for FWAs, and the processes to submit and evaluate these requests. Examples of such arrangements include staggered work hours, remote office, part-time work or job sharing.

FWA can help companies to better attract and retain talent, and harness the potential of groups such as seniors and individuals with family commitments to ensure that individuals can remain in the workforce amidst the labor market condition.

The Workplace Fairness Act (WFA) 2025 was passed by Parliament on 8 January 2025. The Act aims to protect individuals from discrimination by employers on the ground of protected characteristics and to establish fair employment practices such as in hiring or conducting performance reviews, training, promotions, and dismissals.

The WFA will require employers to put in place processes to handle grievances professionally, sensitively and at the firm-level. This will help foster a safe and conducive space for employers and workers to discuss sensitive or difficult issues.

It is essential to recognize that ensuring workplace fairness offers benefits to all organizations, including SMEs, therefore Companies should prioritize workplace fairness and start factoring it into their core business objectives.

An e-Certificate of Attendance will be issued to participant who complete the course with 100% attendance. 

 

Replacement/Postponement

A notice of replacement / postponement together with the full particulars of the new participant (for replacement) must be given to us AT LEAST 3 working days before course commencement. A charge of S$50 (replacement) or S$100 (postponement) will be imposed on such changes. 

 

Cancellation

A notice of cancellation must be given at least 3 working days before commencement of the course and 50% of course fee will be charged /returned. If notice is given less than 3 working days before the first day of the course, there will be no refund/100% charged.
