Overview

One of the biggest challenges in occupational safety is getting shop floor personnel to do what they are supposed to do. This workshop applies psychological methods in implementation Behavioural Safety Management by integrating the program into your existing Health and Safety Management System.

 

Target Audience

This training course is recommended for safety practitioners, directors, professionals, health and safety advisors/ officers, engineers, managers, executive, managing directors and other persons with health and safety responsibilities (e.g. safety representatives).This training should interest those who would like to learn the practical approach of applying psychology in Behavioural Safety Management implementation. While these modules are designed for safety people occupying managerial/ supervisor roles, or roles with substantial organizational responsibilities, they are also relevant for businesses operations and self-employed people.

 

Outline

Day 1

Topic 1: Relationship Between Workplace Environment and Work Behaviours

  • This unit discussed the human behaviours that contribute to workplace environment

Topic 2: Analysing Human Factors at Workplace

  • This unit discussed the human failures that contributed to incidents and psychological method in analyzing the root causes of human factors in committing accidents

Topic 3: Advanced Application in Developing Safety Behavioural Checklist

  • This unit applies existing Health and Safety Management System into the development of Advanced Behavioural Safety Checklist

Topic 4: Applied Safety Psychologist in Observation and Intervention Behavioural Safety Management

  • This unit applies the safety psychological method in intervening unsafe practices

 

Day 2

Topic 5: Identify Gaps in the Implementation Behavioural Safety using Statistical Analysis Methodology

  • This unit explore statistical data analysis from the outcome of observation and intervention program

Topic 6: The Principal of Monitoring Behavioural Safety Management

  • This unit applies the safety psychology in monitoring Behavioural Safety Management

Topic 7: Customize Behavioural Safety Model for Any Industrial Settings

  • Develop customize behavioural safety model for any industrial settings

Topic 8: (Workshop) Apply Psychology in Observation and Intervention

Speaker Profile 

David Tan Kok Pheng

David Tan Kok Pheng is a well-known behavioral safety practitioner, a safety culture analyst and a workplace safety and health practitioner with over many years worldwide experience.

During the course of his work, he finds accident investigation an interesting subject and has been researching the approach of accident investigation. He has since then developed a methodology of investigating accidents and has been applying this methodology in a number of accident investigations that he had involved. This accident investigation framework revealed how accident should be investigated and managed.

David is an approved Risk Management course and Workplace Safety and Health Management System course trainer accredited by Ministry of Manpower, Singapore. He developed some occupational safety courses under the Workforce Skills Qualifications (WSQ) framework and he travels to various countries such as United Kingdom, India, Malaysia, Japan, Thailand to teach safety professionals and senior management how to integrate behavioral safety into Safety and Health management system and how to analyze organization’s safety culture. He has spoken at numerous conferences and OHS related events and was featured in various magazines across the globe.

An e-Certificate of Attendance will be issued to participant who complete the course with 100% attendance. 

 

Replacement/Postponement

A notice of replacement / postponement together with the full particulars of the new participant (for replacement) must be given to us AT LEAST 3 working days before course commencement. A charge of S$50 (replacement) or S$100 (postponement) will be imposed on such changes. 

 

Cancellation

A notice of cancellation must be given at least 3 working days before commencement of the course and 50% of course fee will be charged /returned. If notice is given less than 3 working days before the first day of the course, there will be no refund/100% charged.
