Terms & Conditions

Please read the following terms and conditions carefully before submitting your registration. Your completed registration indicates that you have read, understand and accept all of the terms and conditions.

 

Assumed Skills and knowledge

You declare that trainees are able to read, write and communicate effectively in the course medium of instruction and/or they have met ESS Workplace literacy, numeracy Level 4 and above. If trainees are deemed to have not met the criteria, SCAL Academy reserves the right to reject trainees (before course commencement) and/or remove trainees from course (after course commencement).

 

Registration

Registration is on a first come first served basis.

Registration is only confirmed upon payment. No reservation of seats is allowed.

SCAL Academy can disclose to other government agencies any information relating to this application.

For course registrations, required documents must be submitted to complete the registration. Participant(s) are to provide all information required in regard to registration, and that this information is accurate, complete and current.

 

Payment Terms

Payment for the course must be made before the course commencement date.

Mode of Payments include:

  • Paynow: Company UEN No: 200900134G

  • Credit card

 

Funding Information

Training provider will submit trainee details via SSG Training Provider Gateway and will bill in NETT fee if trainee is eligible for training grant. Note that all grants are subject for final approval by SSG. SCAL Academy reserves the right to claw back the funded amount from trainee (for self-sponsored) / employer (for company sponsored) if he/she did not meet the eligibility criteria, such as:

a) trainee failed assessment

b) trainee did not met minimum attendance stipulated for a course

c) SSG rejects the training grant application (even after course has ended)

 

Withdrawal and Refund Policy

All withdrawal and refund request must be made in writing and subjected to approval.

Course fees paid to SCAL Academy are refundable subject to the following conditions:

 

Written Notice of Withdrawal is received

  • 7 working days prior to course commencement date: 100% of course fees

  • 3 - 6 working days prior to course commencement: 50% of course fees

  • 2 or less working days prior to the course commencement date: No refund

 

Refund will be made within 30 days from the date of approved refund.

Registered participant who does not show up for course with no prior notice will be considered as "no show" and SCAL Academy reserves the right to charge a penalty of 100% of the course fee.

 

Rescheduling of Course

Course rescheduling must be made in writing to SCAL Academy and the written notice must be submitted at least 7 working days prior to course commencement. Reschedule of course dates are subjected to availability of seats. Admin fee of $100 (incl GST) will be charged.

 

Replacement of Participant

Participant may nominate a replacement by informing SCAL Academy in writing at least 5 working days prior to the course commencement. SCAL Academy reserves the right to reject such request that was notified less than 5 working days.

 

Certificate of Participation / Certificate of Successful Completion

Certificate of Participation / Certificate of Successful Completion will only be awarded to participant(s) who achieved the minimum attendance stipulated in course brochure. Participant(s) are required to sign in and out in the attendance. SCAL Academy reserves the right to reject participant(s) who are late for their classes.

 

Amendments to Course

SCAL Academy reserves the right to change or modify the course syllabus / dates / venues / trainers as and when we deemed appropriate or when the circumstances require. Participant(s) will be informed without delay about any change or cancellation. SCAL Academy may offer an alternative schedule, in case of registration may be changed to the new date. If no alternative schedule is offered for the above reasons, full refund will be made. SCAL Academy shall not be liable and the customer shall have no right to claim for indemnification of expenses (e.g. for travel or transportation costs) or damages incurred by customer in connection with a justified change or cancellation by SCAL Academy.

 

Consent for Disclosure of Training Records to Ministry of Manpower (MOM) Authorised Parties

By registering for any course with SCAL Academy, the Applicant consents to the collection, use, and disclosure of their personal data and training records to authorised parties who access the Ministry of Manpower (MOM)’s Training Records System (TRS). This includes companies and organisations that utilise the Check Workers’ WSH Training Records eService available on MOM’s website.

Such disclosure is necessary for the purpose of verifying the Applicant’s WSH training status and is limited to the following data:

a. Identification Number (e.g. Work Permit Number, FIN, or NRIC Number)

b. Full Name

c. Eligibility for 4-year certification of Safety Orientation Courses (e.g. CSOC, SSIC, MSOC), if applicable

d. Course Title

e. Name of Training Provider

f. Date of Assessment

g. Certificate Expiry Date

h. Assessment Result

This data sharing is a mandatory requirement in accordance with the regulatory frameworks established by MOM and the WSH Council.

 

Personal Data Protection Act (PDPA) Policy

SCAL Academy is committed to safeguarding personal data in compliance with the Personal Data Protection Act 2012 (PDPA) and the advisory guidelines issued by the Personal Data Protection Commission (PDPC), including those relating to the collection of NRIC numbers.

With effect from 1 September 2019, SCAL Academy no longer collects photocopies or scanned images of identification documents unless explicitly required under applicable laws or government regulations. However, the collection of identification numbers (e.g., NRIC, FIN, Work Permit Number) continues to be necessary for regulatory compliance with training-related requirements set by authorities such as SkillsFuture Singapore (SSG), the WSH Council, and the Ministry of Manpower (MOM).

SCAL Academy may collect and use the following data:

  • Full Name and Identification Number

  • Contact Information (e.g., phone number, email address)

  • Nationality, Gender, Date of Birth, Race

  • Employment Information (e.g., company name, designation)

 

This data will be used strictly for purposes such as:

  • Verifying identity and course eligibility

  • Administering training and assessment activities

  • Processing SSG grant or funding applications

  • Responding to queries, applications, or feedback

  • Managing payment or credit transactions

  • Fulfilling any other purposes required by law or directly related to the above


SCAL Academy takes all reasonable precautions to safeguard the confidentiality and integrity of personal data. Personal information will not be disclosed to any external organisation except:

  • Where required by law or government authorities

  • For the purpose of certification verification (e.g. MOM TRS system)

  • To service providers involved in the training administration process, under strict confidentiality obligations

 

SCAL Academy does not sell, rent, or trade personal data to third parties.

 

Copyright

It is acknowledged that all courses / seminars/ workshops materials or copies remain as the sole property of SCAL Academy. The course materials may not be reproduced or utilized for unauthorized purposes, nor forwarded nor disclosed to third parties without SCAL Academy's prior consent. If any soft copies is made available during the training event, it may not be taken or removed from the training site, copied or otherwise made usable in any unauthorized manner. Audio and/or video recordings of the lectures are strictly prohibited. Any recordings or copies made of course materials will be an infringement of copyright.
