Overview
The requirements for building plan submission prior to any commencement of building project ensure that building designers such as architects and engineers exercise due diligent in the fire safety design of building structures during the initial design phase. When construction commences upon building plan being approved, the fire safety works need to be inspected and certified by registered fire inspectors and the SCDF before the building project can attain the temporary occupation permit (TOP) as well as the Fire Safety Certificate (FSC) for occupation. Some building with critical fire life safety systems such as automatic fire detection and alarm systems, smoke control systems, automatic suppression systems, etc. are required to undergo periodic professional engineers’ inspection and testing as well as annual fire certificate (FC) inspection by the authority. This workshop will cover the essential requirements and processes of building fire safety inspection inspection to help FSMs to establish an effective fire safety management program.
