Course Description

The Certificate in BIM Modelling: Autodesk Revit MEP Essentials is designed to provide a comprehensive introduction to Building Information Modelling (BIM) specifically for Mechanical, Electrical and Plumbing (MEP) systems using the Autodesk Revit software. The course will cover the essential concepts and tools needed to understand how BIM modelling can be used to improve work processes and enhance design in MEP systems. It will also provide a hands-on learning experience by teaching the basic modeling and editing tools in Autodesk Revit, as well as the design development and construction document phases for MEP projects.

Course Outcome

Upon completion of this course, trainees will have a comprehensive understanding of BIM technology and its implementation in MEP systems using Autodesk Revit. They will be able to use Autodesk Revit to create and edit BIM models specifically for MEP systems, as well as understand the design development and construction document phases for MEP projects. They will also be able to use rendering tools and annotating construction documents using tags and schedules in Autodesk Revit specifically for MEP projects.

  • Introduction to Autodesk Revit Interface, including viewing, drawing and editing tools

  • Working with linked architectural files

  • Creating and modifying views

  • Understanding MEP systems in general

  • Creating spaces and zones

  • Analyzing heating and cooling loads

  • Working with HVAC module to add air terminals, mechanical equipment, and create HVAC systems

  • Working with Piping module to add mechanical equipment and creating hydronic piping systems

  • Working with fixtures, piping systems, and analysis tools in the plumbing module

  • Working with fire protection systems

  • Working with components, circuits, cable tray and conduits in the Electrical module

  • Creating and annotating construction documents

  • Adding tags and creating schedules

  • Detailing in Autodesk Revit MEP

Pre-requisites

This training guide introduces the fundamental skills in learning the Autodesk Revit MEP software. It is highly recommended that students have experience and knowledge in MEP engineering and its terminology.

 

Certification

Autodesk e-Certificate of Completion will be issued to participant who complete the course with 75% attendance. 

 

Replacement/Postponement

A notice of replacement / postponement together with the full particulars of the new participant (for replacement) must be given to us AT LEAST 3 working days before course commencement. A charge of S$50 (replacement) or S$100 (postponement) will be imposed on such changes. 

 

Cancellation

A notice of cancellation must be given at least 3 working days before commencement of the course and 50% of course fee will be charged /returned. If notice is given less than 3 working days before the first day of the course, there will be no refund/100% charged.
