Background
In a competitive labor market, the Small-and-Medium Enterprises (SMEs) might not have the rich resources as larger companies in attracting and retaining talents. This puts SMEs in a disadvantaged position in the talent war.
Yet, the differentiated head start should not prevent SMEs in developing an effective compensation and benefit scheme in their bid to recruit and retain talents against larger companies. The first starting point is for enlightened SMEs to develop a useful and practical compensation and benefit scheme. Doing so is fundamental for SMEs in achieving organizational growth and business expansion. Without putting in place this scheme, SMEs will always be plagued by the difficulty in hiring staff and the concern of employees turnover.
