Developed as an enhancement to the popular ½-Day “Sensible DfS” course launched by SCAL Academy in 2012, this 1-Day DfS for PMEs course is introduced to cover additionally the WSH (DfS) Regulations 2015 and it’s implication. This course is ideal for PMEs working with developers, designers, contractors, and owners who want to know more about the WSH (DfS) Regulations. The course will cover DfS aspects of the whole live cycle of a building or structure from conceptualization, design, tender, construction, occupation, maintenance to demolition. Participants will be introduced to the “Guidelines on Design for Safety in Buildings and Structures”, the “Code of Practice on WSH Risk Management” published by MOM and the WSH Council as well as the WSH (DfS) Regulations. With the current outbreak of Novel CoronaVirus (NCov), this short course is particularly beneficial as case study from a 2003 SARS outbreak in Hong Kong will be discussed.
This short course is suitable for PMEs working in the building and construction industry, and registered proprietor and subsidiary management corporations as an introduction to the subject of DfS. Architects, engineers, estate / facility managers, clerk of work, technical services, WSH Officers, managers and supervisors with design, health and safety responsibilities, will find this course relevant and beneficial.

Mr. Goh Chye Guan
Goh Chye Guan has more than 30 years of safety & health and risk management experience from both the private and public sector. He was involved in the first CDM, Construction (Design and Management) Regulationsstudy mission to he UK in 1998 when he was the GM of SC2. The Guidelines on DfS in Building and Structures was subsequently publishedand the DfS Co-ordinator Course launched when he was theDirectorof Industry Capability Building of the WSH Council. Chye Guanhas also worked in Det Norske Veritas (DNV), set up IRMConsultancy Pte Ltd. He iscurrently the Managing Directorof SMER Pte Ltd (a WSH Council approved CultureSAFE Consulting Organisation).

Replacement/Postponement
A notice of replacement / postponement together with the full particulars of the new participant (for replacement) must be given to us AT LEAST 3 working days before course commencement. A charge of S$50 (replacement) or S$100 (postponement) will be imposed on such changes.
Cancellation
A notice of cancellation must be given at least 3 working days before commencement of the course and 50% of course fee will be charged /returned. If notice is given less than 3 working days before the first day of the course, there will be no refund/100% charged.
