Mandatory JTCSIC course for JTC construction sites. Experience practical safety training with SCAL Academy's experiential learning.
This course is mandatory for every construction worker or supervisor who works in JTC worksites. The worker or supervisor shall produce the certificate of successful completion of this course before entry to the work site. Certificate of successful completion is only valid for 2 years from the date of course completion.
The JTC Safety Induction Course is delivered through facilitated and experiential learning through SCAL Academy’s experiential learning stations (ELS). SCAL Academy’s experiential learning is intended to better acquaint and familiarise workers with common hazards in a typical construction worksite. Workers will have the opportunity to personally experience workplace “accidents” conducted under a safe simulated work environment. Such experiential training helps workers to better assimilate the lessons imparted by our trainers.

By the end of this course, participants will be able to:
Recognise JTC requirements in site engineering controls
Experience the hazards through experiential learning
Instil a safety mind-set through blended learning including practical, mobile and eLearning, as well as learning from past serious construction incidents
Cultivate the right working behaviours and practices such as to avoid the lines of fire Upon completion of this course, learners will be able to apply the acquired skills and knowledge so as to ensure safety of oneself and other personnel in all JTC projects.
All workers and supervisors who are working in JTC construction project sites
Learners must be above 18 years of age and are assumed to:
Must have attened and passed WSQ Apply Workplace Safety and Health in Construction Sites (CSOC)
Have employment status as manual labour to carry out construction work in building and engineering construction worksites
Be medically fit
Applicant should be able to understand and communicate in language of instruction
Be able to manipulate numbers at a proficiency level equivalent to Employability Skills (ES) level 2
Have good organisational skills
Be able to follow written and oral work instructions
Written & Practical Assessment
Hazards Identification Test (HIT): 80% or higher
Multiple Choice Questions: 80% or higher

Important Note
Minimum PPE requirement for course learners:
Safety helmet with chin strap
Protective eye wear
Reflective vest
Safety gloves
Safety boots
Long sleeve shirt
Learners without the above PPE will NOT be allowed to attend the class.
Learners who achieved 100% attendance and 80% or higher for the assessments will receive a Certificate of Successful Completion issued by SCAL Academy. The JTC - SIC Certification is only valid for 2 years.

Replacement/Postponement
A notice of replacement / postponement together with the full particulars of the new participant (for replacement) must be given to us AT LEAST 3 working days before course commencement. A charge of S$50 (replacement) or S$100 (postponement) will be imposed on such changes.
