Safety audits in construction are systematic evaluations that assess and improve safety practices on job sites. They identify potential hazards, ensure compliance with regulations, and implement corrective actions to prevent accidents and injuries. These audits can utilize various tools and techniques, including checklists, observations, interviews, and technology like Video Surveillance System (VSS), drones and aerial Imaging, Building Information Modeling (BIM), wearable technology, IoT sensors, Augmented Reality (AR) and Virtual Reality (VR), to monitor conditions in real-time, gather data and analyze the safety performance of a project.
The aim is to give the participants an opportunity to learn and understand the importance of types of safety audits in construction, and the various tools and techniques which can be utilized to effectively identify and mitigate risks, improve safety culture, and create safer work environments for all employees.
