What is the WSQ Supervise Metal Scaffold Erection Course?

The WSQ Supervise Metal Scaffold Erection Course is a mandatory course for supervising scaffold erection, inspection, and dismantling in construction and related industries. By completing this course, participants will be certified to oversee scaffolding operations safely and in compliance with regulations.

 

Course Description

The Supervise Metal Scaffold Erection course aims to provide learners with the knowledge and skills in supervising scaffold erection, inspection and dismantling work activities in construction and other related industries. The Supervise Metal Scaffold Erection is a mandatory WSH training course for all individuals supervising scaffolding works in construction sites and related industries.

Course Learning Outcomes

By the end of this course, participants will be able to:

  • List rules and regulations to ensure safety in erecting scaffold system

  • Identify, select, set up and perform pre-checking of scaffolding system in accordance with safe work practices, general principles and requirements of SS659, WSH(Scaffold) Regulations and other related WSH Regulations

  • Perform erection and dismantling frame scaffold in accordance with safe work procedures, general principles and requirements of SS659, WSH(Scaffold) Regulations and other related WSH Regulations

  • Perform erection and dismantling tubular independent tied scaffold in accordance with safe work procedures, general principles and requirements of SS659, WSH(Scaffold) Regulations and other related WSH Regulations

  • Perform erection and dismantling tower scaffold in accordance with safe work procedures, general principles and requirements of SS659, WSH(Scaffold) Regulations and other related WSH Regulations

  • Perform erection and dismantling modular scaffold in accordance with safe work procedures, general principles and requirements of SS659, WSH(Scaffold) Regulations and other related WSH Regulations

  • Perform housekeeping and maintain record keeping of scaffold system in accordance with safe work practices and regulatory requirement

  • Identify hazards and ensure the safety of scaffold erection and dismantling

  • Record work in scaffold register and inspection

Pre-requisites

  • Physically fit and above 18 years old

  • Participants must provide a copy of their certificate in the "WSQ Perform Metal Scaffold Erection" from any MOM Accredited Training Provider to be eligible for this course.

 

Assessments

Assessment

Individuals will be assessed through competency of assessment activities

  • 100% Competency in assessments

Certification

Participants who achieved 75% attendance and are certified competent will receive an ID card and a WSQ e-Cert Statement of Attainment (SOA) issued by SSG.

Funding Information

The learner must be physically fit and able to climb up and down a scaffold of 2 to 4 meters high and carry an object e.g., scaffold tube or component max. 15kg of weight during the practical session.

SCAL would like to encourage prospective course participants to inform SCAL in advance of any special needs such as medical needs or difficulty in movements

Replacement/Postponement

A notice of replacement/postponement together with the full particulars of the new participant (for replacement) must be given to us AT LEAST 3 working days before course commencement. A charge of S$50 (replacement) or S$100 (postponement) will be imposed on such changes. The appeal of Assessment Result: (a) Students who wish to appeal for review of assessment results, please fill out the Assessment Appeal Form that can be downloaded from the website. There will be an admin fee of $60.00 (incl GST, non-refundable).
