What is the WSQ Supervise Suspended Scaffold Course?

The WSQ Supervise Suspended Scaffold Course is a mandatory course for supervising suspended scaffold (gondola) activities in construction and related industries. It covers legal requirements, safe rigging, inspection, and emergency procedures. By completing this course, participants will be certified to oversee suspended scaffold operations safely and in compliance with regulations.

 

Course Description

The Supervise Suspended Scaffold course aims to provide learners with the knowledge and skills to supervise suspended scaffold (gondola) activities in the construction-related industry. The Supervise Suspended Scaffold is a mandatory WSH training course for all workers supervising suspended scaffold works in construction sites and related industries.

Course Learning Outcomes

By the end of this course, participants will be able to:

  • Identify standard components and parts of suspended scaffold including different outriggers and anchorages

  • Perform pre-start check of equipment and gears, start-up procedures, shut-down procedures, and emergency procedures

  • Interpret drawing with regards to rigging, installation and dismantling of suspended scaffold using different outriggers

  • Inspect suspended scaffolds, safety devices, braking system, anchorage points and related details

  • Perform troubleshooting of winch/climbing mechanism

  • Use of personal protective equipment (body harness) and lifeline

  • Any Individuals intending to undertake the role of a supervisor for suspended scaffold management

 

Pre-requisites

  • Must be over 18 years old

  • Must be physically and mentally fit for the training.

  • Employability Skills (ES) Workplace Literacy Level 4 and above.

  • Be able to manipulate numbers at a proficiency level equivalent to ES Workplace Numeracy level 4 and above

Assessment

  • 2 hours written assessment (50 MCQ)

  • 2 hours practical performance sessions

 

Passing Criteria

Written Assessment 50 MCQ – 65%

Practical Assessment – Competent

Certification

A Statement of Attainment (SOA) will be issued to candidates who are certified competent in this competency unit and with 100% attendance.

Funding Information

Replacement/Postponement

A notice of replacement / postponement together with the full particulars of the new participant (for replacement) must be given to us AT LEAST 3 working days before course commencement. A charge of S$50 (replacement) or S$100 (postponement) will be imposed on such changes. Appeal of Assessment Result: (a) Students who wish to appeal for review of assessment results, please fill the Assessment Appeal Form that can be downloaded from website. There will be an admin fee of $60.00 (incl GST, non-refundable).
