What is the WSQ Supervise WSH for Formwork Construction Course?

The WSQ Supervise WSH for Formwork Construction Course is a mandatory course designed to equip individuals with the skills to supervise formwork activities, including construction, erection, alteration, dismantling, and inspection of formwork structures. By completing this course, participants will be certified to ensure compliance with safety regulations and supervise formwork operations.

 

Course Description

The Supervise Workplace Safety and Health for Formwork Construction course aims to equip attendees with the knowledge and skills in supervising formwork activities which include the construction, erection, alteration or dismantling and inspection of formwork structures at any worksite. The “Supervise WSH for Formwork Construction” is a mandatory WSH training course for all workers supervising formwork activities works in construction sites and related industries.

  • Application of the WSH Act, its subsidiary legislations and the relevant Codes of Practice on Construction, Erection, Alteration or Dismantling of any formwork structure at a worksite

Course Learning Outcomes

By the end of this course, participants will be able to:

  • Apply the WSH Act and its subsidiary legislations and relevant Codes of Practice to the construction, erection, alteration or dismantling of any formwork structure in a worksite

  • List the roles and responsibilities of a formwork supervisor

  • Assist in carrying out risk assessment for formwork activities

  • Apply the fundamentals of formwork structure construction

  • Ensure formwork structure construction is in accordance with approved design

  • Inspect formwork and falsework structure before, during and after concreting

  • Respond to failure in formwork structure, fire and emergencies

Pre-requisites

  • Recommended to complete the WSQ Perform Formwork Activities course

  • Individual must be at least the age of 18 and above

  • Have foundational knowledge and understanding of the relevant work sector

  • Able to communicate using English proficiently at a level that is the equivalent of Employability Skills (ES) level 4

  • Able to legibly write and read English proficiently at a level that is the equivalent of ES level 4

  • Able to handle numbers and work around them proficiently at a level that is the equivalent of ES level 4

Replacement/Postponement

A notice of replacement / postponement together with the full particulars of the new participant (for replacement) must be given to us AT LEAST 3 working days before course commencement. A charge of S$50 (replacement) or S$100 (postponement) will be imposed on such changes. Appeal of Assessment Result: (a) Students who wish to appeal for review of assessment results, please fill the Assessment Appeal Form that can be downloaded from website. There will be an admin fee of $60.00 (incl GST, non-refundable).
