The WSQ Manage Work at Height (MWAH) course equips professionals with the competence to plan, supervise, and manage high-risk work at height activities. It is aligned with the WSH (Workplace Safety and Health) Regulations in Singapore, covering essential control frameworks for regulatory compliance.
Participants will receive a Statement of Attainment (SOA) issued by SkillsFuture Singapore upon successful completion, recognising their competency in managing WAH operations.
This course is tailored for supervisors and professionals overseeing height-related tasks. It provides the practical knowledge required to:
assess and manage WAH risks,
develop and monitor Fall Prevention Plans,
ensure the correct use of fall protection equipment, and
respond swiftly in case of emergencies.
The curriculum is aligned with Singapore’s Work at Heights Regulations 2013 and Approved Code of Practice for Working Safely at Height (2011). This ensures learners meet local legal and operational standards.

Identify, explain, and apply the relevant Workplace Safety and Health (WSH) legislation/Approved Code of Practice/Singapore Standards applicable to work at height
Identify and explain the Roles & Responsibilities of stakeholders, competent and responsible persons.
Identify hazards, evaluate the risk, and implement control measures for work at height
Review the necessary fall preventive / protective control measures for safe execution of work at height
Establish, evaluate, review and implement a Fall Prevention Plan
Establish and implement a system for an effective monitoring and control of WAH risks
Don, check and correct Individual Fall Protection Equipment and respond to a fall emergency

Learners are assumed to have at least WSQ ESS Workplace Literacy and Numeracy Level 4 and above or equivalent and the ability to carry out hazard identification, risk assessment, and risk control measures.

A Statement of Attainment (SOA) will be issued by SSG to candidates who are certified competent in this competency unit, and with a minimum of 100% attendance of entire course.

Singaporeans and Permanent Residents (PRs) are eligible for up to 70% SSG Funding for this course.
Q: What is the duration of the course?
A: The course is conducted over 2 full days, inclusive of both theory and practical assessments.
Q: Is this course mandatory for supervisors?
A: While not all WAH roles mandate this certification, it is strongly recommended for anyone supervising high-risk tasks at elevation, especially in construction and facilities management.
Q: Is there any physical fitness requirement?
A: Participants should be physically able to perform tasks such as donning safety harnesses and climbing demonstration structures during the practical assessment.
Q: Is this course eligible for SkillsFuture Credit?
A: Yes, Singaporeans may use their SkillsFuture Credit to offset the unfunded portion of the course fee, subject to SSG eligibility.
Q: How often do I need to retake this course?
A: While the SOA does not expire, companies may require you to refresh your WAH training every 2 to 3 years depending on internal policies or contractual obligations.

Trainee must achieve at least 75% attendance
Trainee must pass all prescribed tests / assessments, and attain 100% competency
SCAL Academy reserves the right to claw back the funded amount from trainee if he/she did not meet the eligibility criteria
Training provider will submit trainee details via SSG Training Provider Gateway and will bill in NETT fee if trainee is eligible for training grant. Note that all grants are subject for final approval by SSG.

Replacement/Postponement
A notice of replacement / postponement together with the full particulars of the new participant (for replacement) must be given to us AT LEAST 3 working days before course commencement. A charge of S$50 (replacement) or S$100 (postponement) will be imposed on such changes. Appeal of Assessment Result: (a) Students who wish to appeal for review of assessment results, please fill the Assessment Appeal Form that can be downloaded from website. There will be an admin fee of $60.00 (incl GST, non-refundable).
