CSOC Course | Construction Safety Orientation Course

CSOC Course | Construction Safety Orientation Course

The Construction Safety Orientation Course (CSOC) / Apply Workplace Safety and Health (AWSH) in Construction Sites is a compulsory training course for every construction worker in Singapore. This mandatory WSH training course must be completed by all construction workers before beginning any construction work or entering a construction site.

Under the Workplace Safety and Health (Factories, Safety Training Course order – Clause 2(6)), “Any worker employed in manual labor to carry out construction work in building and engineering construction worksites must undergo a safety and health training course approved by the Commissioner for Workplace Safety and Health.”

CSOC is designed to help construction workers identify their roles and responsibilities and understand how to act during emergencies. Through CSOC, construction workers will also learn the procedures required in their work and training, including “Work-at-Height” practices. Construction workers will be taught their rights and responsibilities, as stated in the employment law in Singapore. By attending an orientation course before they start work, construction workers will be able to perform the tasks required with greater skill. A greater understanding of the safety requirements and health hazards will help reduce the potential for accidents at construction sites. Upon completion, trainees will be equipped to enter construction sites and perform general construction duties. This course is offered in multiple languages.
