The WSQ Supervise Work in Confined Space Operation Course is a mandatory course for individuals appointed as manhole supervisors in building and engineering construction worksites. It covers safety, compliance, and hazard control in confined spaces. By completing this course, participants will be certified to supervise confined space operations, ensuring compliance with regulations and the safety of their teams.
Formerly called Safety Induction Course (Manhole), Supervise Work in Confined Space Operation is mandatory course for any person who is appointed as a manhole supervisor to supervise work carried out in manholes or confined spaces in building and engineering construction worksites.
Duties and responsibilities of all personnel involved in confined space work
Types of atmospheric, physical, and biological hazards and their impact
Requirements of a Confined space Entry Permit System
Safe work procedures for working in a confined space
Types of common gas meter detectors, their uses and limitations
Identification, use and maintenance of personal protective equipment and respiratory protective equipment when working in a confined space
By the end of this course, participants will be able to:
Identify duties and responsibilities of a Confined Space Supervisor under the WSH legislations and Codes of Practice
Identify, prevent and control confined space hazards
Carry out and comply with the requirements of a Confined space Entry Permit System using a systematic approach
Apply Gas Detection Instruments and other control measures when working in confined space
Implement the safe use of personal protective equipment and respiratory protective equipment when working in a confined space
Assist in Implementing an Emergency Response Plan

Participants who achieved 75% attendance and certified competent will receive an ID card and a WSQ e-Cert Statement of Attainment (SOA) issued by SSG.

Replacement/Postponement
A notice of replacement / postponement together with the full particulars of the new participant (for replacement) must be given to us AT LEAST 3 working days before course commencement. A charge of S$50 (replacement) or S$100 (postponement) will be imposed on such changes. Appeal of Assessment Result: (a) Students who wish to appeal for review of assessment results, please fill the Assessment Appeal Form that can be downloaded from website. There will be an admin fee of $60.00 (incl GST, non-refundable).
